This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when using the UFile software application ("Application") for television education devices, developed by RioTouch Inc. The Application is a file explorer that allows you to manage files on your device, USB drives, and cloud storage services such as Google Drive and OneDrive.

1. Information Collection

User-Profile Information

When using the Application, you may provide personal information (e.g., email address, profile icon, username) when logging into cloud storage.

For OneDrive, UFile requests the User.Read permission to retrieve your profile information.

For Google Drive, UFile requests access to your username, email address, and profile (particularly your profile icon).

This information is stored only on your local device and is not transmitted to any backend servers.

Files Management

The Application requires access to your files and folders to function properly. All file management is performed locally on your device, with no data transmitted externally.

Local Storage Access

The Application accesses local storage information from your device by default, such as folders and files, in order to function properly.

External Storage Access

The Application will automatically access USB devices and external SD cards when inserted, ensuring seamless file management.

Cloud Services Data

For cloud file management, UFile requires specific permissions based on the service you use:

OneDrive: We request Files.Read.All and Files.ReadWrite.All permissions to manage your OneDrive files. These permissions allow UFile to access, display, and modify your files in OneDrive.

Google Drive: We request the auth/drive, and auth/drive.metadata permissions. The auth/drive permissions ensure that all files in your Google Drive are accessible for display and management. The auth/drive.metadata permission allows UFile to provide detailed file type information. Together, these permissions enable UFile to upload, delete, and manage your Google Drive files effectively.

Information from cloud services (Google Drive, OneDrive) is used solely to facilitate file management. No additional data is collected or stored externally.

Device Information

The Application collects your device's MAC address for the sole purpose of enabling Quick Share services.

2. Usage of Information

The collected information is used to:

Display files and folders on your device and cloud services.

Enable Quick Share services by utilizing your device's MAC address.

If required by law or necessary to fulfill contractual obligations, failure to provide certain information (e.g., MAC address) may result in limited access to services.

3. Third-Party Access

We do not sell or share your information (e.g., MAC address) with third parties. Any interactions with third-party cloud services are strictly between you and the service provider.

4. Advertising & Tracking

We do not include advertisements, perform analytics, or engage in user tracking.

5. Your Choices

If you wish to stop us from accessing your device's MAC address, discontinue using the Application.

6. Data Retention

We will store files on RioTouch servers for 3 days or 7 days when users upload the files to Quick Share. Users can delete the files immediately and permanently, or wait for the files to expire, at which point RioTouch servers will automatically delete the files immediately and permanently.

7. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 13 years of age.

8. Security

We are concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. We provide physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect the information we process and maintain. For example, we limit access to this information only to authorized developers who need to know that information to operate, develop, or improve our Application. However, no security system is foolproof, and we cannot guarantee complete protection from breaches.

9. Changes to Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy here. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.

10. Consent

By using the Application, you consent to our processing of your information as set forth in this Privacy Policy, now and as amended by us. "Processing" means using UFile on a panel device or using or handling information in any way, including but not limited to collecting, storing, deleting, using, combining, and disclosing information.
